After witnessing a medical error in his family, Arnav was motivated to begin his journey towards a career in healthcare at UC Riverside. With his resilience and dedication, Arnav’s story is an inspiring example of transformation. 

 

NARRATIVE 

From Medical Crisis to Career Catalyst 

Arnav Kacker never could have imagined that a medical crisis would change the trajectory of his life forever. When his mother experienced serious complications from a medication mistake and needed surgery, Arnav realized that prevention was just as important as treatment. This deeply personal experience motivated Arnav to focus on his studies, with goals to attend medical school and become a preventive health physician. 

In his time at UC Riverside, Arnav worked towards these goals by pursuing a degree in biology. His involvement in the UCR Health Promotions department and UCR Health Multispecialty Center has given him valuable hands-on experience. Outside of academics, Arnav is involved in several organizations on campus, including The Well, ASUCR Judicial Council, UCR Health CAP, Wushu at UCR, and the Let It Be club.

Arnav Kacker is currently pursuing a degree in biology with the goal of attending medical school to specialize as a preventive health physician. After one of his parents developed a serious health condition from an incorrectly prescribed medication, he was motivated to focus on his studies, leading to his acceptance to UC Riverside. Arnav has worked at the UCR Health Promotions department and interned at the UCR Health Multispecialty Center, giving him valuable firsthand experience in the medical field. He is also one of the recipients of the 2023-24 Brithinee Alumni Endowed Scholarship.
