NARRATIVE
An Advocate for Mental Health

As the first of three sisters to attend college, Aura Rivera '24 felt like she was “venturing into unknown territory.” But as she adapted to life at UC Riverside, she became resilient and resourceful, taking on leadership and advising roles. Rivera wanted to not only make the most of every opportunity but decided to help others along the way. She received several awards and honors for her efforts.

Rivera always had an interest in business, and taking business and marketing courses at UCR reassured her that she was on the right path. After an internship at Meta where she worked with Instagram’s marketing department, she knew she wanted to pursue a career in marketing. Rivera now works at Fusion Academy, a private middle and high school with 80 campuses across the country.

Rivera plans on earning an MBA degree – although she enjoys her current role, she’s open to exploring new opportunities and other industries.

Thanks to the resources and opportunities available at UCR, students like Rivera can develop their interests and pursue careers that they love.
